Lao Zhang Beef Noodle 老張牛肉麵 – Taipei Part 1

Welcome to the second part of my 2016 Asia trip. After my family and I left HongKong, we went to Taipei for a couple days before heading home.  I never expected to do so much as I did when I was in Taipei. But things could have definitely been better, if the weather cooperated; it was raining most of the time we were there, how unfortunate!

We spent the morning traveling on a plane from HK to Taipei, which was my favourite flight (the plane snack was quite good). We landed and checked into the hotel (read my review of Ark Hotel on Tripadvisor). Thus having only half the day left, we made the most of of it and got a local map (provided by the hotel) that showed us the top tourists spots in the area.

We first hit up 老張牛肉麵 (Lao Zhang Beef Noodle) for lunch (it was a 10-minute walk from our hotel).  We had an assortment of dishes, including Taiwan’s famous beef noodle soup, various side dishes (which was $50 NTD per plate) and steamed rice with spare ribs (apparently it’s very popular, but who am I to know?!).

It was quite delicious for the first meal in Taipei.  For non-Chinese readers, check out some reviews on Tripadvisor.
