I swear this will be my last entry on Front Street Foods. I just had to visit the food market again, before it closes (not till the end of September). I was alone and it was a sunny day. I had a really hard time of choosing what I wanted to eat for lunch, each food vendor’s menu sounded appetizing.
I settled with a grilled eggplant sandwich from Cava (and a bottle of fizz).
The sandwich had chickpea, poblano and tomato jam. Saucey sandwich (I don’t like getting my hands dirty), but nevertheless perfect on a Summer’s day. I wish the eggplant could have been hot (I think it was from the fridge and I understand that cooking eggplant takes time). The tomato jam (sauce) was also cold. I would have preferred a warm eggplant with cold tomato sauce (like a veal culet drizzled with sauce on top).
