For my birthday, I want a colour ombre cake, or something like that. So in preparation, I started experimenting. And from this, I concluded that I’m not good at tweaking recipes, never mind following the recipe.
Please DO NOT bake if you’re missing an ingredient. I learned the hard way.
I wanted my cake to have chocolate flavour and it wasn’t a good idea.
What happened to my kitchen skills? I had trouble separating the whites from the yolks.
Adding colour to the recipe when the mixture was brown-coloured because of the coco powder.
Whisked the egg whites too much.
Added the whites to the wet mixture.
The colours aren’t the greatest.

This was a disaster. The cake was mushy and not light or fluffy (which an angel cake is supposed to be). It hardly rose (in height). I am never doing this again withOUT a proper recipe.
